Privacy

Visits are measured with Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use tracking cookies and does not build a profile of you across sites. It records the page visited, the referring site, approximate country, browser, operating system, and device type. It also records when a visitor clicks a booking link, and which placement on the page that link came from, and which answers are chosen in the CTO check, and whether the blueprint offer was shown, closed, or used, and whether the blueprint PDF was downloaded, so it is possible to see which parts of the site are useful and which situations come up most.

None of this identifies you personally, and it is not linked to your name or email. The hosting provider for this site also collects basic aggregate traffic statistics of its own.

The CTO check asks a few questions about your company. To see your answer, you give your name and email, and your company if you like. Those details and your answers are sent to Migie Labs, so I can follow up with you about your answer. They're kept private, never sold or shared, and never added to a newsletter. I'll only email you about your answer, and you can ask me to stop at any time.

Your answers and details are also kept in your browser, so your answer is still there if you come back. Choosing "Start over" clears them. If you book a call from the check, your answers and notes are added to the booking form, where you can edit or remove them before you book.

If you sign up for the blueprint, your email is sent to Migie Labs along with the wording you agreed to, which is kept as the record of your consent. The blueprint arrives by email right away, and after that you get occasional notes from me on growth and engineering. These emails are sent through Resend, an email delivery service, which receives your address only to deliver them.

Every email includes an unsubscribe link, which works right away. You can also ask by email, and I stop within 10 business days.

Your browser also remembers that you signed up, so the offer doesn't appear again. If you close the offer without signing up, it stays away for 30 days.

Booking a call is handled by Cal.com. If you book, you provide your name and email address, and optionally any notes you choose to add. That information is used to schedule and hold the meeting, and to follow up with you about it. Calls take place over Google Meet. Booking records also note which link on this site you arrived from.

Podcast pages embed video from YouTube, using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. That means no tracking cookies are set just because a page loaded. Thumbnail images and the video player are still served by Google, so Google receives your IP address, and if you press play on a video Google may then store information about that under its own privacy policy.

You can block analytics with any standard content blocker, and the site will work normally. If you have booked a call or used the CTO check, and would like that information corrected or deleted, email the address below and it will be handled.
